This Privacy Policy explains how Consensus ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Information We Collect

Consensus is designed to collect as little data as possible:

• Anonymous votes: When you answer questions and choose to contribute to the global consensus, your answer (A or B) is recorded anonymously. No name, account, or device identifier is attached — it is a simple tally.
• No personal data: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or any personally identifiable information.
• No account required: The app does not require you to create an account or log in.
• Local storage only: Your streak, game history, and settings are stored locally on your device and are never sent to our servers.

Push Notifications

The app may send daily reminder notifications. These are handled via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings. No personal data is used to send these notifications.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google): Used for anonymous vote storage (Firestore) and push notifications (FCM). Firebase Privacy Policy

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share any user data with third parties. The only data transmitted is anonymous voting tallies stored in Firebase Firestore.

Children's Privacy

Consensus is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Data Retention

Anonymous vote data is stored indefinitely to maintain accurate global consensus percentages. Since votes are fully anonymous and contain no personal information, they cannot be linked back to any individual and cannot be deleted on a per-user basis.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no personal information for us to provide, correct, or delete. You can clear all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date below. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
